In recent years, the development of the Internet of Things (IoTs) and its derivative value-added services have been highly valued by industry, government and academia. There are many expanded services in various fields come with IoTs, including Smart Home, Intelligent Transport System(ITS), Intelligent Logistics, and Smart Health. In response to this trend, and in order to strengthen students' practical knowledge and professional competency, to cultivate their pragmatical application, and to improve graduates' employability, our school launched the Program of IoTs, which is co-promoted by the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE), the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), and the Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering (MEME). The program is only for enrolling students on campus, and the aim is to bring up professionals for the development and the establishment of the IoTs.
This program is run by the teaching crew composed of the three departments mentioned from the above, who participate in practical teaching. And the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering is responsible as the authority unit. The minimum academic score is 21 credits, including basic courses (at least 6 credits), core courses (at least 6 credits), and advanced professional elective subjects (at least 9 credits must be completed). The credits taken by students in the subjects of this program, at least 9 of which should not be included in their major courses.
The regulation for starting and taking courses related to this program shall be handled on the basis of the school's "Inter-Department/Institute/College Program Setting Rules", "Inter-Department/Institute Program Setting Rules of the College of Engineering" and the relevant regulations of the three departments (CSIE, ECE, and MEE).
